Fedric Enriquez didn't find tennis — tennis found him. At 12, a friend invited him to a summer camp and something clicked immediately: the sound of a ball hitting the strings, the problem-solving nature of every point, the obsession with getting better. Six years later that obsession hasn't faded. If anything, it's sharpened.
Now a sophomore at Eastwood High School, Fedric carries a 5.60 UTR, a 4.0 weighted GPA, and a competitive résumé built on competing up — consistently putting himself in rooms where he isn't supposed to win and finding a way to make coaches notice him anyway. His state ranking of 241 in Texas reflects where he is today. His trajectory reflects where he's going.
The moment that defines Fedric best came at the 2026 6A District Tournament. Seeded fourth, he drew the first seed in the semifinals — a player carrying an 8 UTR to his 5. Nobody in that bracket gave him a chance. Fedric didn't care. He competed for every point, targeted his opponent's weaknesses methodically, and lost 4-6, 2-6 in a match that felt like more than a loss. He walked off the court having made a name for himself in a tournament that mattered. He went back to work the next day. That is who Fedric Enriquez is.
His growth hasn't been limited to competition. Fedric volunteers at Eastwood's junior development program as an assistant coach — a role that has deepened his understanding of the game and his commitment to El Paso tennis. Off the court, he trains specifically for tennis in the gym, pursues finance as his intended college major, and carries the identity of someone who represents his hometown every time he travels to compete. He is open to D-II and D-III opportunities for Fall 2028 and is just beginning the recruiting process.
